Diary Date: 14 June 2015 - Meet Karen Neale at Stamford Arts Centre

Karen Neale: Artist based in Stamford, sketching the world around her. "My passion is sketching and painting the world around me in my annotated, sketchbook diaries. Standing in situ I draw with a black biro as much as I can of what is going on around me, adding colour with my small field box of watercolours. The notes I’ve made around the perimeter are  of observations made whilst sketching." Read More via Karen Neale « ESC Artists . Diary Date: 14 June 2015 - Meet Teresa Hodges at Stamford Arts Centre

Teresa Hodges: Lincolnshire based artist inspired by landscape & nature. "I've always most of all enjoyed painting landscapes, and especially trees;  I love the changing patterns made against the sky by the branches and leaves, and am always moved by the sight of an ancient dead tree in a green and vibrant setting. I also enjoy painting the small rather whimsical pictures that very often include one of my dogs, either past or present." Read More via Teresa Hodges « ESC Artists . Shalini Austin: Artisan jeweller & metal-smith based in Stamford. "I once bought a necklace in Peterborough and then said that it was often difficult to get something unique at a reasonable price. I am from India where individually hand-crafted jewellery is available to buy to suit any budget and I was quite used to indulging in my love for bling! Dave said, “You could do that! Why don’t you make your own?” Famous last words indeed!" Read More via Shalini Austin « ESC Artists . Diary Date: 14 June 2015 - Meet Eve Marshall at Stamford Arts Centre

Eve Marshall: Artisan felter and teacher based in rural Lincolnshire "I love the process of needle felting. It’s amazing how you can take something so raw, stab it with a needle and create something unique. From just a little piece of fluff you can make anything. I choose to use a single needle to create my pieces because I am able to sculpt, add colour and texture simply and effectively. It gives me such instant results and can be used at any scale from larger wall hangings to the tiny, detailed animal brooches I make. It’s a good portable craft that I can create pieces on the train or in front of the telly. I only need a piece of foam, a couple of needles, and some wool."  Read More via Eve Marshall « ESC Artists . Diary Date: 14 June 2015 - Meet Christina Stevens at Stamford Arts Centre

Christina Stevens: Artist in Lincolnshire working mostly in ceramics. "Most of my work is hand build, coil, pinch, and roll as well as other construction methods, often utilising formers to help support the clay until it is firm enough to support itself. I have a variety of press-moulds as well as sprigs and 2, 3, 4 piece plaster moulds I have made myself ( these are used mostly for slip-casting the ball jointed figures’ arms and torso.) I also use found objects, lace, plants and windflowers pressed into the clay to provide detail and pattern."  Read More via Christina Stevens « ESC Artists . Diary Date: 14 June 2015 - Meet Sarah Clark at Stamford Arts Centre

Sarah Clark: Batik art silk scarves designed in Cambridgeshire "I make wearable art silk wraps, these picture scarves are fluid and the design is revealed or hidden depending on how the scarf is worn: draped over the shoulders the full story can be appreciated or loosely tied at the neck the design becomes an abstract picture of shape and colour." Diary Date: 14 June 2015 - Meet Cathi Prince at Stamford Arts Centre

Cathi Prince: Stained Glass artist based in South Lincolnshire "I love working with the colours and textures found in the various types of stained glass that I use. Sometimes I will work with simple geometric and random patterns, playing with shades and contrasts. At other times I get ideas from around me, the flowers in my garden and the fish in the pond outside my studio door. Walking my dog I collect fragments of designs from the shapes of plants in the fields and hedges and the birds that I see. Using the lead as my line I try to draw these elements and ideas together."  Read more via Cathi Prince « ESC Artists .
