ESC Artists Market in Stamford: 14 June

Well I have been talking about it for a while but now it is really here! 3 days to go! Hope to see everyone local to Stamford at our show :-)

Artists Markets in Stamford
Stamford — Three Lincolnshire based practising artists Eve Marshall, Shalini Austin and Cathi Prince have got together to organise Artist markets and exhibitions promoting the extraordinary workmanship and talent they see around them.
Escartists events are an opportunity for artists to showcase their work in a friendly environment, allowing customers and designers to meet and interact. The artist led events will be held at Stamford Arts Centre. Free Entry at all events.
Escartists 2015 Events:
Artist’s Market in Stamford Arts Centre Ballroom – Sunday 14th June, 11 AM – 4 PM
An exhibition in the Stamford Arts Centre Gallery – Monday 26th October to Sunday 1st November
Artist’s Market, running with the exhibition, in the Ballroom – Sunday 1st November, 11 AM – 4 PM

Eve, Shalini and Cathi first met as stall holders at several craft markets in the Stamford area. Their like minded approach to their art as an expression of their creativity as well as a means to earn a living has seen the three working together as a team for last four years. They have organised and managed several artisan markets in Stamford and Oakham and a well received Artisan Exhibition featuring twelve local artists at Stamford Arts Centre Gallery in early 2014.

    Wishing good luck to all of the participants! The organization of such events is so time and effort consuming but it's worth it, I wish it is gratifying both for the participating artists and visitors :)

7th Bead Soup Party: Shalini's Sparkly Serving Revealed!

So the day is finally here! Its PARTY TIME! My parties are always "Bring a Bottle" kinds so help yourself to your favourite tipple and enjoy! Part 1: This is my first entry into the world of Bead Soups. Be gentle lovely people... It all started when I signed up for the Pretty Things 7th Bead Soup Blog party on 26 January. I have since blogged a bit about it. My Partner Sarah Goode from Pookledo sent me a lovely stash of shiny things! A handful of Swarovski disc crystals / Some metal glitterballs in various sizes / A length of silver plated chain / Some Swarovski glass pearls / a magnetic glitterball clasp  Yummy I hear you say! It is! But apart from the silver chain these are things I have NEVER worked with before! My pieces tend to have a lot of colour in them! Soup's On! And its Tasty!

Actually it is  Delicious! Just have a look at what my Beadsoup partner Susan has sent me! M is the word... MAGNIFICENT! It is an amazing selection of beads, ribbons & cords and not one, not two but FOUR different Focal pieces to play with. The hand-etched copper clasp is just amazing. And her generosity in the amount of beads she has sent is quite humbling. I don't think I sent her enough! But she says she likes it and I am eagerly looking forward to seeing what she creates from it. Just look at what I have to play with, so many different colours and media! Life Slowly getting back to "Normal"

... well as normal as it can possibly be with 3 lots of steroid eye drops, plus a gooey ointment in both eyes daily and some of the blurriness that is a result of it... This picture is a fair indication of what my vision has been like at times in recent weeks!  Had a little tidy-up of the work bench over the week-end and I made some beads for my beadsoup partner yesterday. Hopefully they will be dry today and then I can match up a few more ingredients and get this in the post this week to Ottawa, Canada where my new BSBP partner Susan lives. The Focal piece and matching beads were ready a while ago but I decided to add something different to the mix too. BSBP and Iritis Update

So the 8th Beadsoup Blog Party International Partners have been announced. Our hostess is US based so I am "international" from her location :-) In the next few days I am hoping to get to know my partner. Meanwhile a disaster (for me it is!). Iritis is back and this time it is in BOTH Eyes. Bugger! This is not good as I only got the all clear on 11th Feb! I feel really down and defeated at the moment because I am letting my clients down and I am letting my businesses down. I am writing this post through a haze... or better description is probably looking through a waterfall. I can barely make out what I am typing even through the browser is set to 250%. And in a few minutes I have to use the dilating eye drops again and then even this will not be possible! I am not asking anyone to feel sorry for me (I can do a very good job of doing that all by myself!) but it does mean all these fancy plans of learning new skills and trying new ideas that I have talked about in the pa...
