Fantastic!

Not a lot to say about this really, it's a picture we just took as a Spitfire, a Lancaster and a Hurricane flew over Stamford.

Loved it. Don't know what the Birds were thinking though!

    Great stuff Shalini! What was the event that prompted this fly-past?

    I think I am correct in saying that there is only one Spitfire still flying. If so, this was it.

    Thanks Mark :-) It was awesome, If I had known in advance they were coming would have been ready with the camera and taken more. They are expected again on 3rd July, this time we will be prepared.

    It was the Stamford Festival yesterday and I am sure it was part of that. It was also the first Armed Forces Day yesterday but I don't think this was for that.

    As far as I am aware there are 6 spitfires still flying but may need to check on that.

It's not just a hobby!

It is our Livelihood, it is our Business, it is what helps to pay the bills! Yes, this one's going to be a bit of a rant! One of my artisan friends recently mentioned her experience at a (fairly large) Christmas craft market where a lady spent a lot of time looking at her work and then said "Hmmm Nice Hobby" and walked off. And then I saw this on facebook "Well you must have a lot of time - you obviously don't work!" on a page called Kirsty Elson Designs - another crafter. Probably not spoken by the same person but  it's this attitude from a lot of people that really gets to me sometimes! It's not just a hobby! In my case it is a part time business, but its a part time business that keeps my dogs fed and pays my monthly utility bills! And occasionally allows me to go to the pub and have a drink with my friends.  I work hard for it and I earn it!... AND pay my taxes on what I earn! So the day is finally here! Its PARTY TIME! My parties are always "Bring a Bottle" kinds so help yourself to your favourite tipple and enjoy! Part 1: This is my first entry into the world of Bead Soups. Be gentle lovely people... It all started when I signed up for the Pretty Things 7th Bead Soup Blog party on 26 January.
