Soup's On!

Well the ingredients are ready. That's a start I guess!

The chef won't receive them until next week because I completely forgot that our post office closes at 12.30 on Saturdays! iPlonker! Again...

The picture on the right is what the mess I have put together sort of looks like...

I am sure Sarah will create something very tasty out of it, and perhaps a couple of side dishes too.

She is sending me my own batch of ingredients to play with which I am very excited about :-) And as everyone who has ever tasted my cooking will agree my bead soup should be a lot more palatable than things I cook up in the kitchen!

Both soups will be ready on 6th April so you will just have to be patient for a taste!

And now you have soup on your mind right? I have something to share that requires little waiting and if like me you are cold today it will definitely warm you up! My friend Chaylo's Carrot & Coriander Soup. I have tried it and even I can follow the easy steps! Try it! Its delicious!

Beadsoup Blog Party: Shalini's Soup is Served! Finally!

The chef is a lazy sod but I do hope the servings have been worth waiting for? For a while it was Will she, Won't she, Can She?  Yes she can! :-) I didn't get to use any fancy tools like the torch, saw, drill or add ingredients like solder but I did what I could with the lovely ingredients and I think they did not need any extra embellishments to be honest! The fantastic Bead soup from my partner  Susan McClelland  had enough ingredients in it to just add a bit of wire, a few findings to create this! The main piece! Sari Silk Ribbon, Ceramic Pendant Focal, Hand etched Copper Clasp, handmade glazed ceramic beads and plenty of copper wire. All joined together with my trademark spiral links. YES Fabric! Not really my friend! But it was too beautiful not to use! Thanks for the challenge Susan, I quite enjoyed playing with the sari silk to make it part of the pendant. Tools: My hands, Flat and round nose pliers and dodgy eyes....

Greensleaves Florist…. All About Gorgeous Flowers!

It’s almost a year today since I first met Amanda Clarke who runs Greensleaves Florist in Stamford. And what a fantastic meeting that was! I made a friend. Amanda is an independent florist with years of experience about flowers and floristry. Her flower arrangements are just beautiful. What amazes me about Amanda is the passion she has for flowers and how much of her special touch she puts into each arrangement whether it’s a little posy or a big Wedding order. Amanda has a beautiful shop at the Stamford Garden Centre in Great Casterton and what a shop it is! You walk in and everything is so beautifully displayed, the shop just makes you feel so welcome. The fresh flower arrangements are really fresh and the silk displays so pretty. All created by Amanda. There is even a private little room where you can discuss your requirements of flowers for your Wedding Day, Birthday Party or that very sombre moment when you have to go in and discuss wreaths and tributes because a loved one ...

Textured Copper Pendant (Medium) 04 : One off Copper Pendant made from a small end piece of copper left over after cutting a sculpture shape from sheet copper.I used a texturing hammer to give the blank sheet of copper a pattern, then put it through liver of sulphur for an antiqued finish.The pendant will be sent on a black plated chain with a lobster clasp.
