7th Bead Soup Party: Meet My Partner Sarah Goode

The 7th Bead Soup Blog Party is now in full swing and I guess there is a lot of soup making going on amongst beaders and jewellery makers all around the world :-) There are hundreds of participants!

Pookledo on Facebook
My Soup partner is Sarah Goode of Pookledo from Loughborough. Yes only about 35 miles or so from Stamford! Quite amazing that I get a fairly local partner through a party organised by Lori in USA! Don't you just love the internet?

Hopefully there will be an opportunity to meet Sarah at an event or two in the near future. I don't travel too far for my shows but you never know. Sarah might be venturing our way. In fact I have a feeling Sarah and I have been in touch before as her name sounds VERY familiar. Perhaps it was for a Stamford Artisan Guild event. I am sure it will come to me at some point.

I am sharing a couple of examples of Sarah's work listed in her Etsy Shop. Lovely aren't they? And Sarah sounds lovely too!

Wonder what Sarah is cooking up for me. I love a challenge!

My soup is almost ready. I decided to make a focal piece instead of buying one and its almost complete. Hopefully I will be able to post it by Saturday latest.

This is what we have to send:
:: One focal :: ::  One special clasp (not a lobster claw) ::
::  Some coordinating beads (no need to send a million) ::
No religious items -- crosses, Buddhas, goddesses, etc.
No political items.
No naked bits of bodies (yup, it's happened.)
No cabochons unless you're sending to a seed beader.
I would also just like to say a big THANK YOU to Lori Anderson who is the brain behind these parties for bringing artists from all over the world together for blog networking (and facebook via the group she runs there.) Lori has not been well in the last couple of weeks but still got this massive project going as planned. SuperWoman!
Get well soon Lori, you are amazing!

  1. I chosen quite a different soup to what I sent out to my partner last time. I really hope you like it!

Diary Date: 14 June 2015 - Meet Teresa Hodges at Stamford Arts Centre

Teresa Hodges: Lincolnshire based artist inspired by landscape & nature. "I've always most of all enjoyed painting landscapes, and especially trees;  I love the changing patterns made against the sky by the branches and leaves, and am always moved by the sight of an ancient dead tree in a green and vibrant setting. I also enjoy painting the small rather whimsical pictures that very often include one of my dogs, either past or present." Read More via Teresa Hodges « ESC Artists . I am one of the founders of   ESCartists   in collaboration with my artist friends Eve Marshall and Cathi Prince. Escartists is a new creative group planning an escape from the ordinary by organising Artist markets and exhibitions promoting extraordinary workmanship and talent. I will be sharing details of all 12 artists taking part in our 2015 events on this blog. Feel free to share, reblog and also ask any questions you may have via the Escartists website. Thanks :-)

Cabochons Made, no pictures yet :(

OK so I have made some cabochons now. Not 100% satisfied with them, but not too bad for a first attempt. I don't have pictures to show yet. I took some but the light wasn't too good and the focus was bad so they look like little coloured blobs. I am going to ask the expert - Dave - to take the photos for me and if he can do it today I will post them later this evening.
